Statement
Shelley Rae's practice explores the concept of memory, childhood nostalgia and forgotten moments in time. Rae constructs visual narratives through photography, drawing, animation, and/or video installation. Her art is influenced by performance and blurs the boundaries between fiction and reality. Shelley’s work plays with the idea of documentation, and in her photography and videos, she challenges the viewer to become aware of the fact that all images are mediated.
